A TRICKY TRICK !!!!!!! The explanation is very fast, we must review the lesson No. 4, and understand the movements of his right hand on the drums, then a little work and then it’s all good!
In this drum lesson we are looking at fat back grooves which are exercises that allow drummers to play tight and more accurate notes on any drum. We are focussing on the bass drum in this drum lesson. Playing quarter notes, eighth notes and sixteenth notes on the hi hats and the snare drum on beats 2+4. The bass drum is displaced a sixteenth note each time so our bass drum will be on the same notes in beats 1+3.
In this drum lesson we are taking a look at some drum grooves and drum fill ideas from the song ‘Brianstorm’ by Matt Helders of Arctic Monkeys. Working through 4 exercises and playing between snare drum, first tom and floor tom in exercise 1 while keeping our bass drum on the quarter note. In exercises 2-4 we looks at other grooves and fills from this song.
